Dr. Michael Serwornoo

Dr. Michael Y. W. Serwornoo is a lecturer at the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, an adjunct lecturer at the School of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Education Winneba, and teaches every summer semester at the Institute for Media Studies, Ruhr University Bochum in Germany. He previously taught broadcast journalism at Central University.

He has been a freelance researcher and consultant for many Africa Positive research projects in Germany, and worked for fifteen years as a broadcast journalist in Ghana and with the BBC World Service in London. He currently offers consultancy services to the Media Foundation for West Africa and the Ministry of Information.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and a postgraduate diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast, an MPhil in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Education Winneba, and a PhD in Media Studies from the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.
